STM enters realm of social media

RETURN

STM President Michel Labrecque announced in a video today that the STM successfully launched its social media campaign. As of March 10, 2010, the STM will publish service interruptions on its new Twitter account (@stminfo). STM also launched a Facebook page to interact with transit users across the city. Labrecque said the social media effort “is a way to establish a dialogue with our clientele.”

TP1 Internet 360 assisted the STM in its social media strategy and deployment of the Facebook and Twitter pages as well as designed and developed a widget for the STM’s website, which will display service interruptions. The Twitter page had over 2200 followers when it launched and the Facebook page had 350 fans, with no concerted attempt at publicity other than a simple tweet!

TP1 offers social media consulting as well as other web services. We have provided social media consulting to other organizations such as the World Anti-Doping Agency and the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
